Writing Like Scientist Do!
Can you write like a Scientist? In our classroom our students are learning to write about science during our Writing Workshop.
Did you know that Scientist study the world around them, pose questions and hypotheses, conduct experiments, and write about their results in lab reports.
Oh yeah! That is exactly what our second graders are doing! So exciting! The question everyone wants to answer; will this toy race car go farther off the ramp on carpet or on the bare floor?
The students were totally engaged creating their hypothesis, (a guess), recording the procedures, conducting multiple trials, and recording their results. We also analyzed our results, and wrote a conclusion. Look forward to more experiments and writing a lab report! Yes, we can write like a scientist!
It was a busy week; in Science we are finishing our unit on Matter, we made ice cream.  Ask your student about the yummy ice cream we made in class. We decorated our literary pumpkin; we were also invited to two Publishing Celebrations. So nice, we were invited to Mrs. Zollinger and Miss Hoffman’s 3rd grade class and Mrs. Meissner and Mrs. Boushie’s Kindergarten class. Great work students!
